It never pays to compromise your own morals if you want to be a great leader. Just because your competitors are cheating does not mean that you have to. There is nothing that says you must compromise your morals to stay relevant. If you’re able to figure out new ways to compete with them, you’ll be happier with the decision you made.

Focus on diversity in your staff. Age, educational, and cultural diversity can give you lots of different perspectives. Do not hire employees who are similar to you. This stifles innovation within your team. That may mean that your company will fail in the long run.
Integrity is essential to a good leader. Always be honest and act in everyone’s best interest, especially when no one else is around. Without integrity, other workers will not trust you. Leadership with integrity earns your respect and trust.
Avoiding becoming obsessed with winning. In today’s world it can be really easy to break down different things into goals, stats, and spreadsheets. It is tempting to rely solely on metrics to measure the success of your team. Rather than focusing on just the numbers, it is important that you first teach employees how to succeed and develop that winning attitude. Eventually, everything else will fall into place.
As a leader, you should be working towards building a team that is strong and cohesive. Be a team member yourself: talk with your colleagues and respond to them honestly about issues they may have. Know that when there’s a strong team, your employees will be much more productive with the day-to-day needs because they know people have their backs.
Guiding your team to success is what a leader does best. Putting what you’ve learned into action is going to make all the difference. Stay humble and always be open to learning new things.
